Parts out of 100.
Percent means "out of 100". 50% means 50 out of 100, which is the same as half.
A percentage is a fraction with denominator 100. 25% = 25/100 = Âŧ. To find a percentage of a number, multiply by the percent divided by 100.
A percentage p% is the ratio p/100. Finding p% of a quantity Q computes (p/100)ÃQ. Percentages unify fractions, decimals and ratios for comparison and proportion.
